Plans for The PCT Anthology

Anthology comes from the Greek words “Anthos”, meaning flower, and “legein,” meaning to gather. The first anthology was a compilation of poems called Anthologia.

The PCT Hiker Trash Anthology will gather stories, photos, and memories that represent a year of Hiker Trash experiences on the Pacific Crest Trail.

The PCT Hiker Trash Anthology will be laid out like the trail, with a beginning and an end. While many who start the trail never make it to the end. Hiker Trash understands that the PCT is about the journey, not the destination, and the PCT Hiker Trash Anthology will honor that idea.

There is so much history around the Pacific Crest Trail. In the past, yearbooks were created and then discontinued. The goal of PCT Hiker Trash Media is to keep the history of PCT alive even when those who started it have moved on.

The PCT Hiker Trash Anthology is a fresh start from the yearbooks.

The book will have a new layout, more input from the PCT Hiker Trash community, and guaranteed delivery of the Anthology straight from the publisher.

The goal is to keep costs low for the PCT Hiker Trash community while delivering a high-quality product worthy of the effort you put into your PCT adventure.

Content for the Anthology will come from you, the hiking community, and trail angels.

  • PCT Hiker Trash Media will gather stories, news, and photos of current events on the trail.
  • PCT Hiker Trash Trail Reports will share these current events with Hiker Trash on the trail.
  • PCT Hiker Trash Anthology will be a collection of these stories, news, and photos from the trail.

We already have a publisher and a contract, and work is underway on the book’s layout.

Currently, when I say, “We” regarding putting this together, I mean me, Doug Hark, aka Grateful.

We are / I am currently looking for hikers and trail angels interested in serving as Trail reporters and sending in stories, news, and photos of current events on the trail.

Check out the “Be A part” section on the main page or click here for more details on how you can be part of this PCT Hiker Trash project.

Watch for more details to come. We’re excited about this new adventure.
