Mission Statement

The mission of the PCT Museum is to preserve the history and lived stories of the Pacific Crest Trail.

These stories originate on the trail itself, shaped by the PCT Hiker Trash who hike, wander, and endure its long, winding path.
They are the firsthand voices of the trail.

Each year, new hikers step onto the Pacific Crest Trail and become part of its ongoing history.

Through the PCT Museum and the PCT Hiker Trash Yearbook, these experiences will be collected and preserved, rooted in dirt, sweat, resilience, and the shared spirit of the Pacific Crest Trail.

The PCT Museum exists to safeguard these stories for those who lived them and for those who carry the dream of one day walking the trail themselves.

I am honored to be the caretaker of the PCT Museum.
This role is not about ownership, but stewardship, listening, gathering, and protecting what the Pacific Crest Trail gives freely.
